Spinning Wheel

Spinning wheel, don’t spin for me.

Time, cease when I cease to be.

Flowers, greet me daily,

Bright and blooming gaily.

From turrets high above the scene

Tucked in the castles of my dreams

From height of power I wrest her

Now the king made jester, say

Carry on, carry on, carry on, carry on, carry on, carry… on.

Now I lay me down to sleep

In pastures I wish not to leave

Yet all for naught is lowing

Old we all are growing

Try I may, but sleep I must,

And follow me she will I trust,

In flowing robes, bells ringing,

A voice like angels singing, say

Carry on, carry on, carry on, carry on,

carry on, carry on, carry on, carry on,

carry on…carry on…carry on, carry… on.

Spinning wheel, don’t spin for me.

Time, cease when I cease to be.

Flowers, greet me daily,

Bright and blooming gaily.
